Feds has created a new mailing list, called fedsnews. It's a start. But it should be called feds-announce (note the hyphen). News is too restrictive.
Posted by Jesse at January 12, 2004 06:15 PMWhat I found funny was getting automatically added to the list. I had no idea people saw me as being an important person to communicate with. Especially while on workterm in another city, which I think people are finding hard to believe.
Posted by: tim at January 12, 2004 08:05 PMWell, I'm glad you half agree... It's a start. Anyhow, our other new communication innovation is that summaries of council meetings will now be made available 24 hours after council meetings. These summaries will include all decisions, arttendance (including who was early and late) and important arguments made during the course of debate.
This summary will be distributed via Fednews and will be available on our site.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the referendum issue.

but it is a good start.

Innovation, n:
1. The act of innovating; introduction of something new, in customs, rites, etc.
I'd say it fits.
