The recent consultation about a potential mixed-use condominium development on the old Embassy Lot, which was facilitated by the BIA, was a positive step forward. In the meantime, this vacant lot needs to be cleaned up by the property owner.

For at least the past couple of months, the fence has been down in several areas. The lot is also overgrown.

Add your name to this petition so the incumbent councillor, bylaw enforcement, and environmental services know that residents want this lot to be properly maintained by the property owner in accordance with our property standards bylaw.

After a series of emails and phone calls to bylaw enforcement, the issue has been "assigned for investigation." In the meantime, conversations with the fence company and the property owner reveal that the property owner needs to and has not successfully hired a local person -- a handyperson or property manager -- to maintain the fence and property.

If you know someone who would like to be hired by the property owner to maintain the property, please call me at 226-268-756 or email jesse@helmer.ca.

If you'd like to contact the incumbent councillor, his office phone is 519-661-2500 Ext. 7012 and his email is sorser@london.ca. Bylaw enforcement is at 519-661-4660 or enforcement@london.ca. Environmental Services is at 519-661-4570 or es@london.ca.
