This Wednesday evening is our second Farm to Fork Community Dinner here at The Root Cellar. We have plenty of seats left, so come share food and drink with each other, with our workers, and with the Gingerich family--our featured farmers this month. The Gingerich family farms certified organic and free-range eggs and chickens, and have one of the only on-site egg grading programs in the province. We'll be hearing from them about the challenges and triumphs of small-scale organic farming, the quota system, and farm succession. Chef Dani is putting together a delicious "family-BBQ" style 3-course menu featuring Gingerich eggs and chicken (vegetarian entrees available!) as well as lots of other local organic bounty. This is not an evening to be missed!
To reserve your seats, call us at 519-719-7675. Make sure you let us know if you're a chicken-eater or vegetarian! Doors open at 6pm on Wednesday, and the meal is pay-what-you-can (suggested $25-$30).
