Thank you

Wow — what a night! I'm honoured to be elected as the councillor for Ward 4. Thank you to the residents of Ward 4 who have put their trust in me.

Thank you to my campaign team, without whom this would not have been possible. I couldn't be prouder of you all, especially those for whom this was your first political campaign. Thank you for putting in hundreds of hours of work over a long campaign period.

Thank you to all the other candidates who put their name forward to represent Ward 4. We don't agree on everything, but I hope we'll be able to work together on goals we do share for Ward 4. Thank you especially to Sheryl Rooth, who ran a principled campaign and made a hard decision in August.

This campaign has been a wonderful experience. Talking to the folks who live and work in Ward 4 and listening to their hopes and their concerns about the future, it's clear that we have so much in common.

Although we live in different neighbourhoods throughout the ward, we share a common pride in those neighbourhoods.

Although we may travel around the city by different means, we share a common desire to be able to do so quickly, affordably and safely.

Although we may have different ideas about how to achieve it, we share a common vision of a more prosperous city with less poverty and more opportunity for all Londoners.

I am hugely optimistic about the progress we can make together in Ward 4 over the coming days, months and years.

Some of the changes will be the big moves of the London Plan. Other changes will be smaller in scope, but they will add up.

Over the course of this campaign, I've been privileged to meet so many Londoners who are working hard to make to make our ward and our city a better place to live and work. I'm thrilled to see several of them elected to city council.

It will take all of us -- not just the folks who were elected to council, but all of us -- to rise to the challenges we're facing in the city and to seize the opportunities for change in Ward 4.

I look forward to doing my part serving as your councillor.
